Joy Comes In The Morning

It has been 2 years already.  However, just so everyone knows and has an update…

My dad, Tom Boynton, is no longer here on this earth.  Dad was diagnosed with cancer on April 13, 2024, with Stage IV cancer.  We suspected the worst, but because it came out of nowhere, our family was caught off guard.  It was a short, but yet, hard fought battle.  For, 4 months later, on August 18, 2024, Dad went to be with his Jesus, the one who had died on the cross to save the world from their sins.  Everywhere Dad went, and it did not matter whether it was a restaurant or a wedding, he was sharing Jesus with others.  Oh!  Dad so loved Jesus that he wanted others to know and accept His free gift of salvation too.

“…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” (Psalms 30:5)

Dad is no longer in pain.  His pain has been turned into joy because he is happy, healthy, and with his Savior.

We, as his family and friends, and those of us who have accepted the free gift of salvation… although we still are grieving, we are at peace because we know that one day we will all be reunited.

The question might arise…

“How do we work through and process the trauma and grief of no longer having Dad this side of glory?”

Well…please allow me a moment to answer how Dad would answer.

If Dad were here today, he would tell you, and would want you to know…that if you were not saved, that you need to get saved.  Why?  Because Jesus is coming back.  SOON!  Whether you ARE ready or NOT.  All you have to do…

A = Admit you are a sinner, have come short of the glory of God, and that the wages of sin is death.  (Romans 3:23, 6:23)

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;…For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

B = Believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. (Acts 16:31)

“And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”

C = Confess that He is Lord of your life. (Romans 10:9)

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

So…on behalf of Dad, AND the Great Commission of the Gospel, be reconciled to Christ.

So, you see…we work through and process the trauma and grief of no longer having Dad this side of glory by continuing to share not only Dad’s legacy and testimony with others, but also, most importantly…OUR Jesus.

Our joy…comes in the morning.
