Tricked by False “SCIENCE”?

Have you noticed, recently, that false assertions are often foisted upon the public as “scientific truth”?  It’s not a new phenomenon.  Back in the first century, the apostle Paul concluded one of his letters to Timothy with this warning.

“O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:  Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.”  (1 Timothy 6:20-21)

The word “science” is translated from the Greek word “gnosis” which means “knowledge.”  When God’s Word speaks of “knowledge,” it’s referring to an understanding of that which is actually true.  However, the only source of true knowledge is God, the creator.  He is the only one who was there when He created everything.  When mankind invents theories based on the assumption that God doesn’t exist, their theories are blatantly unscientific.  Rejecting the one who knows all truth, doesn’t bode well for those seeking truth.  When mankind rejects God’s true knowledge, his search for knowledge becomes fraught with error and foolishness.  This leads to false conclusions.  In spite of this, adherents of these false theories seek credibility by falsely calling their theories “scientific.”  The theory of evolution, for example, turns a blind eye to truth.  It ignores well known principles of physics and statistics which show the theory to be sheer foolishness.  God declares the adherents of such theories to be “without excuse.”

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;  Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” (Romans 1:18-20)

Notice that such foolishness ultimately brings the eternal consequences of God’s wrath.  God the Son provides the only hope for deliverance from His wrath.  He died a prophesied, cruel, sacrificial death to pay the penalty for sins.  All who seek God’s forgiveness through faith in Christ’s sacrificial death, burial, and resurrection, shall be delivered from His wrath.  Such faith can be imparted to an individual only by God Himself.

Many of mankind’s greatest discoveries have been made by God-fearing true scientists, seeking to “think God’s thoughts after him.”  Those who reject God not only produce foolish theories.  They also render themselves blind to their need for God’s offer of forgiveness.
