God shall send them strong delusion

“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: …” (2 Thessalonians 2:11).
God’s reason for sending this strong delusion upon men is explained in the previous verse of this passage: It is,
“…because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved” (2 Thessalonians 2:10).
Rejection of Christ introduces strong delusion into the heart of man. It’s like the introduction of a cancer which multiplies and spreads like wildfire.
These warnings were presented to the church of the Thessalonians in a letter Paul and his missionary companions sent them. He warned that eventually the antichrist, driven by Satan, would set himself up and claim to be God. Deceptive wickedness, already in the world, will become overwhelming in that day.
“…except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened” (Matthew 24:22).
Scripture tells us that, when this happens, the antichrist and his world system will seek out and behead all who refuse to worship him as God or to take his identifying mark. Worshippers of Christ will be the primary victims because almost everyone else will convert upon pain of death. This antichrist will deceive most of humanity into believing he is God by deceptive but convincing displays of religious power.
“For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect” (Mark 13:22).
As this world spirals downward, rejecting God’s natural laws, most will come to mock the idea of Christ as Savior. Belief in Christ as the sacrificial Redeemer will be opposed by the increasingly powerful satanic world system which the antichrist will control. Those yet unsaved, will become defenseless against this strong system of delusion. Their minds and hearts will be overpowered by a belief that Satan’s counterfeit Christ is the real thing. This lying deceiver will advocate unnatural wickedness which will, perhaps, be described as additional “alternate lifestyles,” and “cultural diversity.”
If you are unsaved, I urge you to trust Jesus Christ as your sacrificial Lord and Savior who rose from the dead. Only His Holy Spirit can protect your mind and heart from the coming deadly “strong delusion” which may be almost upon us.
Are you saved?
