UNSAVED BELIEVER

Are You an unsaved believer?

An unsaved believer is one who acknowledges the existence of God but rejects what Scripture says about Him. Merely believing in God doesn’t guarantee salvation. Consider, for example, the fallen angels.

“Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble” (James 2:19).

God neither offered nor provided fallen angels the salvation He offers to men.

“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day” (Jude 1:6).

However, belief in the true God, though not sufficient for salvation, is absolutely necessary for it.

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).

Many, who believe in one God, don’t believe in the true God. Jesus told the Jewish leaders of His day that, though they claimed to believe in one God, they were actually believing in, and serving the Devil.

“Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me…Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.…” (John 8:42-44).

Belief that Christ is God is an absolutely essential aspect of believing in the one true God. Jesus said,

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me” (John 14:1).

If you believe in the existence of God, but reject Jesus Christ as God the Son, you’re an unsaved believer. You have substituted an imaginary god for the true God of the Bible.

Diligently search the Scriptures to obtain faith in the true God of the Bible.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).

God’s Word teaches that God the Son shed His blood at Calvary to pay the penalty for sins. Then He rose victoriously from the dead becoming the only one able to raise your dead spirit to life.

Has God breathed this faith into your heart converting you from an unsaved believer into a saved believer?
