TOMORROW

Have you ever had a “yesterday” in which you anticipated a different “tomorrow” than the one which actually happened? Scripture warns us to recognize that we do not control, or even know, the future as God does.
“Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.” (James 4:13-16)
In recent days, God has reminded us of this fact by the very unexpected deaths of two different family members. In each case, the day before these events occurred, we anticipated a very different “tomorrow.” Just as God’s Word says, we did not know what would be “on the morrow.”
There is coming a day when God will bring His final judgment upon the world. All of humanity shall be separated into two groups. One will be positioned on the right hand side of Jesus Christ, and the other on His left. Many will find themselves on His left who thought they had many “tomorrows” in which to worry about eternity. To them Christ shall say:
“…I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Matthew 7:23)
Either death or that final judgment will usher us into eternity. We do not know when either of these events shall occur. Because of this uncertainty, it is important to confess sins to God, now, and ask His forgiveness. Ask Jesus Christ, God’s Son, to save you based on His sacrificial death on the cross of Calvary.
Are you one of those who has said, “I’m busy now. I’ll worry about eternity tomorrow!”? Remember that you have no control over tomorrow. Seek the Savior today while it’s not too late!
