ARE YOU RELABELING GOOD AND EVIL?

Most agree that good and evil exist, and that good should be promoted and evil discouraged. However, disagreement exists as to which is which.
Scripture tells us that all good things ultimately come from God.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (James 1:17).
Since God is the creator and source of all goodness, He’s the final authority regarding what should be labeled as “good” and what should be labeled as “evil.” In Scripture, He has clearly classified certain things as evil. A few examples are murder, adultery, sorcery, idolatry, lying, divorce, and sodomy (Revelation 21:8, Malachi 2:16, Leviticus 18:22).
Fallen man, however, has become adept at redefining good things as bad and bad things as good in order to justify wicked behavior. Murder of unborn babies is called “pregnancy termination.” Partners in adulterous relationships are relabeled as “significant others.” Divorce is referred to as “termination of an incompatible relationship.” Sodomy is called “an alternate lifestyle.” Those who righteously oppose such relabelings are, themselves, deemed evil and called “religious fanatics.” Jesus prophesied that evil men would come to think they were serving God by killing His followers.
“They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service” (John 16:2).
God vehemently condemns such relabeling of good and evil.
“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20).
Are you relabeling good and evil as defined by God? If so, you’re in dangerous opposition to Him. This cannot end well for you unless God touches your heart and gives you a meek and repentant spirit (Psalm 34:18).
If you are one who has become burdened with your tendencies to pursue evil while calling it good, you should ponder the following words.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
Jesus, God the Son, offered this invitation to those burdened over sin.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
