ONLY ONE LORD CAN SAVE

Is the One You Trust The Lord?

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”  (Hebrews 11:6)

Those who are saved must believe in God.  Who is He?  God, Himself, tells us.

“I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” (Isaiah 42:8)

Those who come to God must believe that He is who He says He is:  The Lord!  He is not our genie in a bottle.  He is The Lord!  Inventing a god who is not The Lord, sets up a false god whom one can disobey.  Such a false god is not God at all, and cannot save.

The Lordship of Jesus Christ permeates Scripture.  There are well over one hundred Scriptures which define the true gospel message in terms of The Lord Jesus Christ.  I shall present just a few.  I encourage you to search out the rest for yourself.

When the Ethiopian Jailor asked, “What must I do to be saved?” Paul and Silas answered:

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (Acts 16:31)

As the martyr, Stephen, was being stoned, he cried out to his Savior:

“…Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” (Acts 7:59)

God revealed to the early Jewish Christians that He was also granting salvation to Gentiles.  God caused them to understand that both Jewish and Gentile Christians are saved by the same Lord Jesus Christ.

“But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.” (Acts 15:11)

The apostle Paul was emphatic that the only possible peace with God comes from this one “Lord”.

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:” (Romans 5:1)

The apostle Paul declares that someone who does not love and honor the Savior as Lord, is not saved.  Rather, such a person is still under God’s curse.

“If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.” (1 Corinthians 16:22)

A person who belongs to The Lord Jesus Christ is owned by Him and love-bound to obey Him.

Do you love the Lord Jesus Christ?
