Are You Believing the Big Liar?

The Bible’s first chapter describes God’s creation of the heavens and the earth and everything therein. After concluding His creative work, He issued the following command regarding the fruit of one tree. He forbade mankind to eat it.
“And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” (Genesis 2:16-17)
Shortly thereafter, the devil, disguised as a serpent, lied by telling Eve that God’s warning about death was untrue.
He said,
“…Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:4-5)
Millennia later, Jesus Christ, speaking to the religious leaders, described Satan as a murderer and a liar from the beginning.
“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” (John 8:44)
Satan has continued lying to mankind. He urges them to despise God’s righteous authority. He lies and tells men and women that God doesn’t really exist. Instead, he sets forth the foolish theory of evolution that denies God’s creative works and authority. This theory claims to be “true science.” Yet it violates the most basic tenets and procedures of true science. Many have become willing victims of this lie. It gives them an excuse to ignore God and follow their own evil desires. The Bible is our most dependable source of information regarding creation. Yet Charles Darwin, son of a Bible teacher, came to despise the Bible. Instead, he popularized the theory of evolution. Though he could see the foolishness of his own theory, he embraced it because of his disdain for the Bible.
Do you believe in Darwin’s evolutionary theory? If so, you would be well advised to subject it to the well established mathematics of statistical analysis. If you do this honestly, you will be awed by the foolishness of Darwin’s theory.
If you believe that God is the creator, then you understand that you have violated His authority and deserve His punishment. Do you also understand that when God the Son shed His blood at Calvary, He took, on himself, the punishment for all who trust Him as Savior?
“…we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:20-21)
