Have you ever been awed as you gazed into the night sky and saw the trillions of stars spanning the galaxies? Most of them are larger than our Sun which is large enough to contain over a million Earths!
Have you ever been even more awed by the majesty of God who created them all? Scripture tells us that God is everywhere. King David said, “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me” (Psalm 139:7–10).
If you are awed by God’s inter-galactic creation, you should be even more awed by His love. Since God’s presence is infinite, it is correct to conclude that His love emanates from Him throughout all galaxies!
It is even more amazing that this love has been focused upon wicked sons and daughters of Adam and Eve. Though Scripture tells us that they were created in God’s image, Adam and Eve defaced that image through disobedience. The result was perpetual wickedness and death. “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned…” (Romans 5:12). God displayed His love to wicked members of Adam’s fallen race through the sacrificial shedding of blood by God the Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross of Calvary. Shortly before His sacrificial offering, Jesus explained the greatness of His love. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). After His burial, Christ arose conquering death for those He would save!
An awesome day approaches in which those who have obtained faith in God’s Son shall be separated from those who have not. “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36).
When you step into eternity, will you experience the eternal love of Jesus, or will He be your angry judge forever?
