Will charges of “Hate Speech” make us ashamed of Christ’s Gospel?

Today, an accelerating, aggressive, worldwide effort is silencing any who speak of Jesus Christ as the only Savior. True Christians present Him as God the Son, who took on flesh, and sacrificed His life blood to pay the sin penalty for all who repent and trust Him. That’s not “politically correct.” Such statements are now illegal in many countries. Even here, strong legal sanctions are being levied against those who peacefully present the claims of Christ. With increasing regularity, those who violate “political correctness” in defending the truths of Christ, are being arrested and charged with “hate speech.”
Christ, Himself, clearly stated that He is, in fact, the only Savior.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).
He told His disciples to boldly proclaim Him.
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).
Then He sought to prepare them for the persecution this would invite.
“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you , and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you” (Matthew 5:11-12).
“Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also” (John 15:20).
“They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service” (John 16:2).
In spite of the world’s increasing hatred of Christ’s claim to be the only Savior, He made it clear that those who are really trusting Him will be characterized by a continuing boldness to present Him to others.
“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32-33).
Professing Christian: Genuine faith in Christ will persevere under persecution. Are we genuine, or will we silence our so called “hate speech?”
