The Bible speaks of many things which impact our lives. Here are some examples.
The Bible says, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones” (Proverbs 17:22). Do you think the Bible is true?
Years ago, my children discovered fossils of sea creatures high on a hill hundreds of miles from the ocean. How did they get there? The Bible says, “And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, … and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered” (Genesis 7:17-19). Do you think the Bible is true?
The Bible spoke of the “circle of the earth” (Isaiah 40:22) long before Columbus believed the earth was round rather than flat. Do you think the Bible is true?
After reading Psalm 8:8, which mentions “the paths of the sea,” Matthew Fontaine Maury was driven to search for, and discover, the ocean currents which are now well known to modern science. Do you think the Bible is true?
The Bible says, “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars:…” (Matthew 24:6). Do you think the Bible is true?
The Bible says, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come” (2 Timothy 3:1). Do you think the Bible is true?
The very next verse explains why the perilous times come: “For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy” (2 Timothy 3:2). Do you think the Bible is true?
Salvation is an eternally important Bible subject. The Bible says, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36). Do you think the Bible is true?
If the Bible is true, shouldn’t we take it seriously when it speaks of our eternal destiny? Oh reader: call upon the Lord Jesus Christ for redemption from sin for which He paid by shedding His blood on Calvary.
