WHO PLANS PARENTHOOD?

DO YOU CHALLENGE THE ONE WHO PLANS PARENTHOOD?

I spent many years developing medical products.  Each development involved the integration of mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, and software components.  None of these elements created or assembled themselves.  It took months of planning, organizing and, finally, assembling individual components into a properly operating whole.  As engineers, we carefully documented the planned product details in our engineering notebooks.  Only when our design plans were complete could the finished product be assembled.

Listen as the psalmist, David, contemplates the planning process involved in the production of a single human being.  Speaking to God he says,

“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.  I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.  My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.  Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.” (Psalm 139:13-16)

Notice the precise and perfect planning that God carries out in bringing forth a single individual.  Today, we understand just a few of the incredibly complex technical details of parenthood previously unknown to man.  God has encoded the complex plans of His “book” into intricate strands of DNA.  These determine the structure and development of a baby in the womb.

As a development engineer, I would have been angry if an enemy had disrupted the development of our finished product.  We would have called it “industrial sabotage.”  However, destruction of a baby in the womb is worse.  It’s murder.  Could it be that God is angry at such behavior?  The answer is “yes!”

“God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.” (Psalm 7:11)

But there’s hope even for a murderer!  God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, the Savior.  He died a cruel, agonizing death on the cross and rose again three days later.  He paid the eternal death penalty for each one who repents of sin and asks Him for salvation.

Are you burdened down with the guilt of sin?  Listen to Christ’s invitation.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

Have you struggled against God’s parenthood plans?  If so, seek His forgiveness now!
