MOCKERS OF GOD LOSE

Are You One of the Mockers?

Many people mock God.  They mock Him by choosing to disobey Him.  They mock Him by denying His Sovereign creative act, clinging, instead, to the foolish theory of random, non-intelligent evolution.  They do this in an attempt to throw off any responsibility they have to Him as creator.  The Psalmist speaks clearly of this mockery.

“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,  Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.” (Psalm 2:1‑3)

God, however, is not even slightly threatened by their foolishness.  In a sense, their puny bravado might be amusing if not so sad.  The passage above continues as follows:

“He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.  Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.” (Psalm 2: 4-5)

In his letter to the Galatian Christians, Paul, God’s apostle, points out that the foolish mocking of God, by His creatures, takes no hold on Him.  God is not diminished by their mockery in any way.  He still controls His universe.  Those who never cease rebelling against His authority shall ultimately pay a heavy price for their mockery.

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7)

One example of people reaping what they’ve sowed is the STD problem infecting and killing many throughout the world.  It’s no secret that this results from ignoring God’s commands regarding intimate relationships

“…For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: … And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.” (Romans 1:19-27)

God the Son, Jesus, the Messiah came, died, and rose again to save His people from their sins  (Matthew 1:21).

If you, by His power, receive Christ as Savior, He’ll change you!

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
