Where Will You Be When He Replaces It?

“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” (Hebrews 1:1-3)
Have you ever wondered what holds our universe together and keeps it functioning in an orderly clocklike manner? Even atheistic scientists believe the second law of thermodynamics, which teaches that total entropy and disorder never decreases. Consequently, without external intervention, things decay and deteriorate.
This is painfully obvious to all observers. Living creatures die. Their bodies return to dust. Though children build sand castles on the beach, they quickly succumb to winds and waves. Automobiles wear out. Buildings tumble. Orbits of manmade satellites eventually collapse in a fiery reentry.
Only God keeps our universe functioning like a carefully maintained clock. He is “upholding all things by the word of His power.” But one day He shall remove His upholding power.
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” (2 Peter 3:10)
God will divide all of humanity into two groups. Those who have repented of their sins, asking Christ to save them, shall be placed on His right. Those who reject or ignore His sacrificial blood, which He shed for sinners, shall be placed on His left.
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: … And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” (Matthew 25:41-46)
For His redeemed, God the Son shall create new Heavens and a new Earth which He shall uphold forever (Isaiah 65:17, Isaiah 66:22, 2 Peter 3:13). However, those who reject Him won’t be there.
Where shall you be?
