Are You Running out of Time?

Are Your Acquaintences Running out of Time?

“The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.” (Jeremiah 8:20)

When Adam and Eve sinned, they died spiritually, just as God had warned.  Thus began a long series of various illustrations showing God’s plan of salvation.  These all pictured God’s ultimate provision of salvation through the agonizing, victorious death of Jesus Christ, His Son.  These illustrations revealed His plan to mankind.

“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,  Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;  Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” (Hebrews 1:1‑3)”

Scripture describes judgment as God’s “strange work” (see Isaiah 28:21).

“Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked;…” (Ezekiel 33:11).

But God rejoices over true repentance.

“Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.” (Luke 15:10)

When mankind died spiritually, his dead heart could no longer seek God.  God, alone, can restore life (quicken) thereby restoring man’s ability to desire forgiveness.

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: …” (John 6:63)

However, make no mistake.  No person will ever be saved who does not come to Christ seeking His forgiveness.  Yet, all that God the Father has given to Christ, shall do just that.

“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” (John 6:37)

But time is growing short!  God said,

“(… I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)” (2 Corinthians 6:2)

Will you respond to Christ’s invitation before running out of time?  If you’re one of His chosen, He’ll enable you to do so, and God’s heart shall rejoice.
