WHAT ARE WE TEACHING OUR CHILDREN!

Are We teaching Our Children to Seek Eternal Life?

Society is on a deadly, downward descent into deep darkness.  What are we teaching our children?  Shall our words and actions, point them toward eternal destruction?  God, our creator, made it clear that He demands righteousness from each man and woman.  This means He demands righteousness from you and me.  Those continuing to embrace unrighteousness, while rejecting Jesus Christ, the only deliverer, are racing rapidly toward eternal destruction.

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9‑10)

Are we teaching our children to flee adultery, or do we encourage them to use prophylactics while engaging in it?  Are we teaching our children not to steal, or not to get caught stealing?  Are we teaching them to worship only God the Savior, or the finest entertainment money can buy?  Are we teaching our children to obey righteous parental instruction, or do we allow other teachers to sabotage that instruction?  Are we teaching them not to lie, or are we teaching them that “little white lies” are O.K.?

God’s decreed consequences for unrighteousness are inescapable.

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7)

Jesus taught about those who do not enter the kingdom of heaven.   He said they will be sentenced to a place of both “outer darkness” and “everlasting fire.” (see Matthew 25:14‑46)

If we are teaching our children correctly, we will teach them that there is only one way of salvation

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)

God the Son, Jesus Christ, died a sacrificial death on Calvary’s cross outside Jerusalem.  He died and rose again, paying the penalty for all who repent of their sins, trusting Him for salvation.  Through Paul, His apostle, God decreed,

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Are we teaching our children to trust Him?
