LEFT SIDE OF GLORY

Will You be on His Left Side of Glory?

Call him “Eriphos.”  He has been gathered to an appearance of all nations on earth.  Presiding over this gathering is a man clothed in a brilliance of glory.  He is called “The Son of Man.”  He divides those arriving into two distinct groups.  Those to His right are called sheep.  Those to His left are called goats.  Eriphos finds himself on the left side of this glorious one.  A hush falls upon all humanity as the Son of Man speaks.

“Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:  For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:  Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.” (Matthew 25:34-36)

Those on the right are surprised at the King’s gracious words.  They ask Him when they ever served Him so well, and He says,

“…Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” (Matthew 25:40)

As the King faces left, Eriphos anticipates an even greater blessing.  He is proud of the many great things he has done to distinguish himself.  With piercing eyes, the King speaks directly to him.

“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:  For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:  I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.” (Matthew 25:41-43)

In horrified shock, Eriphos asks Him, “When?” and He says,

“…Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.” (Matthew 25:45)

Have you asked God the Son, the crucified and risen Son of Man, Jesus Christ, to forgive your sins?  Has He prepared you for His right side of glory, — or will you be on His left?
