Will You be Delivered from the Second Death?

Most folks want to be delivered from death. Why? Because death is an enemy which resulted when man disobeyed God’s command. God had warned,
“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” (Genesis 2:17)
Adam and Eve disobeyed. Consequently, most individuals entering this life already have an appointment with death.
“…it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: …” (Hebrews 9:27).
Only Christians, still living when Jesus returns, shall escape death. Everyone else, even Christians, will die at their appointed time. Most, who die, will also experience “the second death.”
However, Christians who die, shall be delivered from the second death! They shall be overcomers.
“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.” (Revelation 2:11)
How do they become overcomers? It is through God-given faith in the sacrificial death, burial, and resurrection of God the Son, Jesus Christ. He shed His blood to save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21).
“For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.” (1 John 5:3-6)
However, those who die without Christ are appointed to the second death. This is worse than any man-made prison. The most evil beings of all time will be there.
“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. … And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” (Revelation 20:10-14)
Have you repented to Christ, and asked to be delivered from the second death?
