A Little Child and an Older Person Must to come to Jesus the Same Way

The Lord Jesus came to save people who sin.  This includes little children.  If you’re a little child, Jesus invites you to come ask Him to save you.  Sometimes adults think children need to be more like them in order to understand this.  Once, some adults brought little children to Jesus.  Other adults tried to stop them.  They thought you needed to be grown up in order to come to Him.  Jesus was very displeased.  He said,

“…Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God” (Mark 10:14).

Even if you’re a little child, you need to come to Jesus.  You need Him because you’re a sinner.  You have a heart that wants what you want more than what God wants.  You’re not good at obeying Mommy or Daddy when they tell you not to do bad things.  If you grow up without Jesus, you’ll just become a worse sinner.  Jesus knows this and invites you to come to Him now.  Even older people must come to Him for the same reason.  Listen to what Jesus says to older people.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).

It’s the same invitation.  If you’re a child you need to come to Jesus for salvation.  If you’re an adult who didn’t come to Jesus as a child, you need to come now.  Jesus said that adults must come the same way children come.  If you didn’t come to Jesus when you were younger, you still need Him.  You must come to Him with the humility of a child.  Jesus made this very clear when He said,

“Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein” (Mark 10: 15).

Jesus, who is God the Son, died and rose again to save His people from their sins.  Do you know a child to whom you can read and explain this?
