ARE YOU ONE OF THE FEW?

“FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT”

Very few are ever truly saved. Jesus said so!

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matthew 7:13-15).

False teachers have caused many to believe they’re saved by church affiliations, good works, or even hollow acknowledgments of Christ. Jesus speaks of those who have been deceived in sobering terms.

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Matthew 7:21-23).

Notice that the people of whom Jesus speaks these words are religious people who name the name of Christ as their Savior. However, their hearts have never been truly changed by the Savior they proclaim. Regardless of their good words about Christ, their primary inner desires remain unchanged from those of the unsaved. What a horrible shock it would be to die, expecting the loving embrace of Jesus, only to hear Him say to you “Depart from me.” If this happens, you will be eternally condemned and without hope.

Christ said, through His Apostle Paul,

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new … Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith” (2 Corinthians 5:17 & 13:5).

As you examine yourself, do you find evidence that God has changed your heart to desire Him and cringe from evil? Has He given you spiritual life to yearn for Christ and to desire His forgiveness through the blood sacrifice of God the Son at Calvary. Are you really a new creature in Christ?

Are you one of the few?
