THE BEGINNING

Do You properly Understand THE BEGINNING of all Things?

All men believe one of two diametrically opposed beliefs regarding “the beginning.”  The first of these two beliefs is that, in the beginning, God created all things.

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” (Revelation 4:11)

Everyone else denies God’s account of creation.  They have invented many theories trying to explain how everything came into being.  The theory of evolution is a common element in belief systems which reject the Biblical account.  It claims that some form of “big bang” provided the raw materials for subsequent development.  A theory called “uniformitarianism” claims that initial and subsequent development was produced by processes which are still ongoing.  The Bible describes this false belief.

“…there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation [uniformitarianism].  For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:  Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:” (2 Peter 3:3-6)

The above passage shows that God, as creator, demands obedience to the requirements He established for man’s wellbeing.  Because of man’s wickedness, God sent the worldwide flood of Noah’s day.  Only Noah’s family of eight souls survived the flood by means of the ark God told Noah to build.  This ark also typified Jesus Christ, the prophesied Messiah.  The fact that God sent the flood proves that He will also send a greater final judgment.  This judgment shall be for those who continue to wickedly reject or ignore the Lord Jesus as Savior.  The very next verse, following the above passage, declares this certainty.  Just as surely as the flood came, this final judgment of fire shall also come.

“But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” (2 Peter 3:7)

Only those who are trusting Jesus Christ as Savior shall escape this final judgment.  He is God the Son who came, as prophesied, to save His people from their sins.  Virgin born, He lived a perfect life.  He then died a sacrificial death on the cross to bear His people’s sins.  He rose again after three days and three nights, proving His power to save.

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36)
